Yesterday I read online that one could use shaving cream to clean spots on one's rug. You know that I couldn't pass up that opportunity, right?

Deerhunter: East Side Edition

I was in Kirland earlier today. (I know, right? (I had my reasons. Although, to be honest, I doubt I'll ever go back.)) ANYway, guess what I saw while walking Porkchop! A bronze deer!



It was kinda' weirdly located. I honestly don't know what it was doing there. Which, I guess, sums up my opinion of Kirkland as well. (No hard feelings, Eastsiders. I'm sure you enjoy coming out to play and all that.)

Chocolate Fawndue

Why, yes! It does look similar to the Sharpie Stag! But it's also a bit different. Like fire and ice different, if you will.

Seedy Stag

Pants had the idea of arranging grass in a deer shape. This morning, I took it back to its embryonic stage, if you will.



It's made from cat grass seeds that an older lady who used to live in my building gave me. They might technically be wheatgrass seeds but aren't labeled as such.

A Most Annoying Gif Deer

Leff and I were looking through old photos yesterday and noticed that three consecutive laser deer drawings that I'd made worked as a running deer. Thus we have today's entry, a most annoying gif deer.



Ah, yes. Continuous motion on the page. How 1998 of me.

Edible Deer

Today's deer is for the Seattle Edible Book Festival which is happening TODAY! (more info about that below.)

It's based on the book Fire Bringer (warning: audio!) which is very much like the Watership Down for deer.

Anyway, here are three pics of the cake for your viewing pleasure!







Do you need a list of ingredients? Fine. The deer is made from rice krispie squares, marzipan, sesame seeds, food dye and four skewers. All plant life, except for the pine trees, is composed of marshmallow fondant. The pine trees are sugar cones coated with royal icing. Oh, there's also a yellow cake with cream cheese icing in there and some candy rocks and a bit of thyme.

Admission is $10 (free with edible book entry) with proceeds going to the Seattle Center for Book Arts!
